Jesse Bounds - City of Houston

So, I have known Jesse for about three years now and he is very used to my Open, Open, Open mantra.  For most of us the smart city concept is still a lot of smoke and mirrors.

I was at a meeting last night in the Near Northside and Bill King showed up.  Our city is so smart yet we struggle with the simple.  We cannot get our trash picked up.  We cannot keep everyone informed of dangers like flooding as they are happening.  We have data coming at us from many sources but that data does not reach everyone nor is there an easy way to know danger is present.  Here comes Barry and we are not ready.  Our ditches and streets are full of tree waste that a big rain will add to drainage blockages.  Can we get it together and actually work on solutions?

We pay so many people yet even a pot hole for most city employees hitting them and tearing up our equipment there is the attitude that it is "not my job" to report it.

So anyway I told Bill King's person Phil that I am the old man out here in the Northside that wants the trash picked up.  There may well be things that need cleaning up in city hall as well.

Right we could actually get all of our meeting notices somewhere we could all access.
